More than ten years ago, Anna, a devoted animal lover, started this project after witnessing the mistreatment of working donkeys. Initially, the project focused on providing a sanctuary for donkeys and other animals. However, it has since evolved to include animal rescue and veterinary treatment. This project is one of the few facilities in Zanzibar that offers medical treatment to animals. Over the years, the project has helped all animals in need, including Zanzibari livestock, cows, donkeys, goats, and even an occasional monkey or bird, despite limited resources.
