This volunteer project is the perfect opportunity to make a difference if you’re interested in native cultures and ways of life. The Mayan people are recognized for many things: highly developed writing and astronomical systems, architecture, mathematics, and more. However, they face numerous challenges including discrimination and poverty. At Volunteer Encounter, we believe that cross-cultural exchange and understanding help address such issues. This Mayan Indigenous Communities Immersion project brings volunteers to the outskirts of Antigua. Program Highlights
Gain a unique, lifetime experience of living and working alongside an indigenous Mayan community in rural Guatemala.
