Servant Leaders for Peace, Reconciliation & Social Cohesion

Communities are healing, but recovery takes sustained, ground-level work. This volunteer and internship program places you within 18 partner church networks and community centers across the Lango and Acholi sub-regions, supporting the grassroots leaders driving post-conflict recovery and long-term social cohesion.

Volunteers contribute across three interconnected focus areas. In leadership development, you help deliver organizational training, business planning, and mentorship to church and community platforms. In economic empowerment, you work alongside local groups to build collective marketing systems, group savings models, and pathways to self-reliance.

In peacebuilding, you support community dialogue sessions, conflict transformation platforms, and women’s advocacy networks. This program is well-suited for volunteers with backgrounds in peace and conflict studies, social work, community development, theology, or human rights. An openness to faith-based community structures and a genuine respect for local leadership are essential.
