Eco-Enterprise, Climate Action & Agribusiness Development
Program Overview
Climate change is hitting hard, and local communities must build back smarter. This volunteer and internship program places you inside working eco-enterprise models in Pader District and across the Lango and Acholi sub-regions. You will contribute to climate-smart agriculture, ecosystem restoration, and rural financial inclusion through two established local organizations: TekLim Agribusiness and TekLim SACCO.
The work spans four hands-on focus areas. At the Village Eco Farm Park in Abyeba Village, volunteers support agroforestry, modern beekeeping, and permaculture. At TekLim Agribusiness Hubs, you assist with high-value crop production, value-addition, and collective farmer marketing. Through TekLim SACCO, you engage with microfinance and financial literacy programs for smallholder farming groups. Volunteers also contribute to eco-tourism trail development and conservation demonstrations.
This program suits students and professionals in agriculture, environmental science, economics, conservation, or sustainable development. A commitment to community-led climate solutions is more important than prior field experience.
