Mathematics is included in the core curriculum of primary and secondary programs because it has been recognized that students develop the skills needed to function effectively in their personal and working lives by doing and learning mathematics. Research findings indicate that teaching quality and teacher quality have a significant impact on students’ learning in this field. Thus, teachers need to understand how children learn mathematics and collect well-developed strategies for appropriate teaching of the subject.
