Bachelor of Education (Language Arts Education)

The Bachelor of Education in Language Education is a professional degree normally intended for educators. This degree is awarded to persons who have satisfactorily completed the program and have satisfied the examiners as set out under one of the given schemes. This undergraduate program has been designed to meet the personal pedagogical and professional development needs of beginning and practicing English teachers. It reflects sensitivity towards the issues, challenges, and possibilities in content and pedagogy in the teaching of English and the development of Literacy in Caribbean contexts. The combination of courses in school-based settings and professional development in school-related contexts will undoubtedly produce a cadre of English teachers who meet the instructional needs of our education system. These courses are also aimed at developing awareness, sharpening skills, and raising the levels of competence in teaching approaches and methods, research, and innovation in language and literature education. Students have the opportunity to enroll in a multicultural Caribbean campus and experience other cultures at a highly ranked and accredited university.
