Amazing Experience

I honestly think studying abroad at Korea University was one of the best opportunities I have experienced! I was nervous before going, but I am so happy I went and got out of my comfort zone, which allowed me to become more independent. While in Seoul, I made amazing friends (who I still keep in touch with) and had tons of fun everyday both inside and outside of school. There was just so much to explore and I was never bored! I would totally go back again if I had the chance because it is such a great memory of mine.

As someone who had never been to Asia to start with. Studying and living in Seoul for a semester was a life changing experience. Meeting other international students from all over the world while also making new friends with the locals. The city of Seoul offers a wide variety of cultural activities, food, nightlife, and many more things to do for entertainment. I came back from my study abroad and still recommend it to my friends and fellow classmates. USAC also offered amazing guidance along the whole process of applying to arrival and even ongoing support while there. Great program and highly recommend to others.

Studying abroad in South Korea has left such a lasting impact on my life! I made so many friends, tried new food I never knew existed, and made a lot of memories. I am so grateful I got to have this opportunity and most importantly I am grateful for all the help and support from my home university, host university, and USAC. My semester at Korea University is already the highlight of my year. I'll forever cherish the city of Seoul!

As a Mexican-American going overseas and breaking frontiers and patterns is hard. This was a great opportunity to grow as an individual. I had the best time of my life. I would recommend it to others and would say YES, over and over again! I will forever remember my time at Korea University.

Living in Korea was an experience that became a part of me, and now that I’m away, I miss it more than I can explain. The country wasn’t just where I stayed it became my home. I miss the rhythm of my daily life there: the sound of the subway arriving, the smell of street food in the evenings, and the way the city never truly slept. Even the small routines, like late-night walks to the convenience store or grabbing a coffee on the way to class, felt special. What I miss most are the people and the connections I made. Sharing laughter over endless plates of Korean BBQ, warming up with hot soups in the winter, or simply hanging out in cozy cafés created memories that I carry with me every day. I also miss the feeling of discovery finding hidden alleyways, stumbling upon festivals, or traveling to the mountains and beaches that showed a completely different side of the country. Korea taught me independence, gave me unforgettable moments, and filled my heart with experiences I’ll treasure forever. Now, when I think back, it feels like a second home calling me back. A piece of me will always miss Korea.

Studying abroad in Seoul through the USAC program at Korea University was one of the most exciting experiences of my life. The friendships I built and the incredible places I explored helped shape me into who I am today. One of my favorite memories was attending a baseball game with friends as part of the Korea University activity schedule, where we got to experience the energy and culture of Korean sports firsthand. Traveling across the world with fellow USAC students made the journey even more special, and the connections I made continue to be a meaningful part of my life. Even now, I stay in touch with the amazing friends I met in Korea, cherishing the bond we created during our time there.

This opportunity gave me many valuable life lessons. For my first time studying abroad and being on an airplane, I really took it to the next level. Yes, it was intimidating but I'm not one to turn away from challenges. I'm so glad that I didn't because I met so many wonderful people, learned Korean culture and language, and got to have life altering experiences through it all. Whenever I share my story I always tell them to "Go and do it! You won't regret it!" I will forever be thankful for all the support I had and the friends I made along the way. The best part of it all is that I am still in contact with the people I met and we plan to see each other here soon!!! South Korea really opened my eyes and helped me see the world through a different lens. So take that leap, face those challenges, and explore the world!!

My time studying abroad in Korea was easily the best time of my life! There is just so much to do in Korea. They have amazing food, cute cafes, great nightlife and so much more. I have done so much while I was there like go to Gyeongbok Palace and wear hanbok, join the Yonsei dance crew and take the KTX train to Gangneung. I have made so many lifelong friendships throughout my time in Korea as well. I love and miss it so much. I could not recommend studying abroad in Korea enough.

I had a fantastic time in Seoul, South Korea! The classes were engaging, the university was beautiful, and the food was spectacular. I am already planning to go again in the future. Exploring everything the city had to offer, either with new friends or alone, felt like I was truly living as I wanted to live. I experienced many firsts, like rock climbing, clubbing, and archery cafes, while abroad. Though I definitely could've done those things at home or elsewhere, the thrill of being in an entirely new environment inspired me to open up to more experiences in a short amount of time! I reminisce often about my time there.

My experience with this program through USAC was amazing! I stayed in the dorms on campus with another USAC member. She and I as well as other participants in the program are all friends to this day! This was a great opportunity to explore Korean culture and experience a new lifestyle. We had Korean students that were our buddies in case we needed any help and that would give us recommendations for good restaurants or places to visit. We met with our buddies and other exchange students weekly at different restaurants to make friends and try traditional Korean dishes. This experience was once in a lifetime and I am so glad I got to embark on this journey! Thank you USAC!!

This program was life-changing for me! The USAC staff was very helpful during the preparation/application process so I could complete my application and course registration without stress. Korea University was the right choice for me. The campus is beautiful, spacious, and clean. There is a vibrant student culture, many fun traditions, and tons of school spirit! There were also many opportunities to make friends and connections. At KU, you are automatically enrolled in an international student club where you can meet people from all different countries and backgrounds (including Korean students). You are assigned a group in which your Korean student leaders will teach you KU traditions and Korean culture. You will have many opportunities to experience life as a Korean student. For those who wish to improve their Korean ability, there is a Language Exchange program where you can be paired with a Korean student to meet with throughout the semester for language and cultural exchange. I had an incredible experience with this and made lots of progress with my Korean proficiency. I mainly took Korean language courses. The professors were all very kind, engaging, and helpful. Classes were challenging, but not overwhelming. I was able to balance school and personal life and manage my coursework while still having time to travel and meet with friends. There are also many cute cafes and delicious restaurants around campus. It's a lot of fun to discover new study spots and places to hang out with friends. It didn't take long before I felt right at home at Korea University, and I will always think of it as a second home. I have grown so much and made many lasting friendships through this program, and I wouldn't change a thing!

The USAC Program at Korea University truly transformed my journey as a media student. Because of it's academic opportunities and cultural immersion, it not only enriched my academic growth but also broadened my horizons in ways I never imagined. Coming from a small town, the busy city of Seoul and Korea's culture was a contrast but helped in expanding my understanding of the world and exposing me to new perspectives. Having previously studied in Korea, I had certain expectations, but the USAC Program exceeded them all. The availability of great academics and cultural experiences created a diverse learning environment that very fulfilling. From experiencing classroom discussions and learning from other students to exploring the busy streets of Seoul, every moment was an opportunity for personal and professional development. Overall, I highly recommend the USAC Program at Korea University for those seeking a difference from their regular educational experience. It's not just about earning credits; it's about experiencing a journey of self-discovery, learning a new language and culture, and learning from amazing professors. Studying abroad was an incredible and life-changing experience for me. I had the opportunity to immerse myself in a completely different culture, which broadened my horizons and gave me a new perspective on the world. I spent my study abroad in Seoul, South Korea, which was an amazing city that challenged me in many ways. While in Seoul, I had to learn how to navigate the city's bustling streets, use the subway and buses to get around, and even go hiking in the nearby mountains. These experiences helped me become more independent and confident in my abilities to adapt to new environments. I also had the chance to meet people from all over the world, which was truly eye-opening. I learned about different customs and traditions and gained a deep appreciation for the diversity of our global community. I also had a great professor who helped me learn Korean, the university was incredible especially when it showed. Overall, studying abroad in Seoul was an unforgettable experience that has left a lasting impact on me. I feel more open-minded, adaptable, and culturally aware as a result of my time there. USAC made everything easy during the application process this was super important because it was first time traveling abroad. They also offered some cultural activities such as going to Lotte World.
