A great time

I was on London for the two three-week sessions. The classes were excellent and I really enjoyed my class about Shakespeare. We traveled to the Globe theatre to see multiple productions, then had wonderful conversations. Through USAC, there were opportunities to travel outside of London and spend time in lesser known attractions, which let me explore more than just the city. Overall, it balanced both independence to see the city and do whatever you wanted while also letting you have more structure and planned trips.

I had a great time studying abroad in London for a semester. I was able to experience student life and make friends with people in my classes. I got to immerse myself culturally while still making time for my studies. I got to visit a lot of museums through the program as well.

My London Adventures

During June 2025 I studied Managing Project and Events in London at University of Roehampton. I had an absolutely incredible time immersing myself in the London lifestyle, meeting other students from London, exploring famous monuments, and even going outside of London to some other English towns with other USAC students. I am interested in Project Management after undergraduate studies and this course that I took in London helped me immensely in understanding the resources and tools used in Project Management. I also went to some well-known sports facilities and the Shard for some class trips. The faculty and staff at the University of Roehampton made it very easy to navigate around campus and made us feel as if London was a second home. On the weekends I went with some of the other USAC students to other English towns including Brighton, Bath & Stone Henge, and Margate. We all had a wonderful time exploring those towns together as these were new sights for many of us. I am so grateful and happy that I had the opportunity to study abroad in London as it showed me that there are so many opportunities out in the world for people to take a part in and grow.

I cannot wait to go back to London again one day to explore this beautiful city even more.

My study abroad experience was nothing short of amazing. I loved my walks through the Hampstead Heath, taking the tube, indulging in British cuisine and visiting the year round markets like Camden and bourough market. I highly recommend it to everyone! It was the best choice I’ve ever made! It is now a goal of mine to live in London!

This was truly one of the best experiences of my life! Studying abroad was such an amazing opportunity I will never forget. I made some of the best memories and had incredible experiences every single day. The USAC program and Dara my program director were so helpful with every step and all my questions along the way, I felt super supported. While living in London for ninth months, I was able to work as a bartender, travel to 13 other countries and study film hands-on making several short films. It was so perfect, I would recommend to anyone! I would love to do a study-abroad graduate program now.

My time in London taught me so much about life and I’ll never forget it! Being on my own in another country felt like the first time I was truly self sufficient in my life and I had to make it work for me. I loved every lesson I learned and every friend I made. The experiences I had were life changing, and I can’t wait until I get the chance to go back to London!

LONDON BABY!

I would not trade my experience studying abroad for anything. As a person who stayed in my hometown for undergrad, the opportunity to live and study in London was unlike anything I have ever experienced. Through my diverse courses and international professors, I learned a lot about how background shapes who a person is and how they function amount other members of a community. The art and theater scene in London allowed me to experience creativity from all parts of the globe. The easy and CHEAP access to flights and travel provided me an opportunity to see many countries, towns, and areas that I had never even dreamed of. Most importantly, USAC facilitated meeting other students in my program, some of whom I now call my best friends. If another student has an opportunity to go abroad but is a bit apprehensive (and understandably so), my advice would be to JUST GO FOR IT! It really is a once in a lifetime opportunity that will change who you are for the better. I gained perspective, connection, and understanding from my time abroad that is irreplaceable.

Think long and hard before you choose USAC

Going to London for 6 weeks was such an overwhelming but pleasant experience for the most part. There were of course pros and cons. The pros was going to a different country, trying new foods, learning to be by yourself for a long time, traveling to different countries. There were many cons, especially with this program. First of all, USAC choose to send us to the countryside at Roehampton university instead of the Met London or any other school in the city like they did the previous years. The countryside which is in the middle of absolutely nowhere. The nearest coolest thing was Wimbledon but that was still a 30 minute bus ride. The school not only had horrible accommodations, we had to take not 1 but two buses to the nearest train station. Then take the tube or train to the city which is 45 minute ride. Half of my money was spent on transpiration. I would go through a different program if you're thinking about studying abroad.

We hope the good memories of your time in England will overshadow the disappointments that seem top-of-mind right now. Reaching out to the USAC Resident Director as soon as you did was the best move and led to changes within our reach. Helping students acclimate to the culture and mitigate campus issues is precisely why USAC staff is available to you, so thank you for contacting them. We shared your experience with USAC's leadership and Advising team to review where a disconnect may have occurred in your onboarding process. We're glad you enjoyed exploring London. Taking on a term abroad is a momentous thing — we hope you applaud yourself for having the ambition to spend a summer in Europe.

Best program trips!!

I loved going on the program trips, my favorite one was to Brighton. I had always wanted to visit south England and go to the pier so this field trip was a no-brainer for me. I really enjoyed the informational tours and the free time we got for the rest of the day trip. I 100% recommend going on all the trips offered by USAC, they’re all worth attending!

Deciding to take a semester abroad in London, England was one of the most enriching cultural experiences of my life. I recommend to anyone to go for it if they have the means to. I felt as though I learned so much historically along with discovering a deeper understanding of myself. The USAC staff really helped us with immersing ourselves into the culture along with provided helpful resources for any issue that may have arose.

Studying abroad was a truly fantastic experience. Not only did I fall in love with London, but I also fell in love with the world. Living in London allowed travel to be incredibly successful. During my time abroad, I was able to travel to seven other countries. This opportunity allowed me to gain significant cultural awareness and helped me step out of my comfort zone. Travelling with a group of amazing people who share the same love for adventure was so amazing. I will never forget my time abroad, and I will always urge people to embark on a similar journey.

Leaving the country for the first time!

I have never lived or been outside of America before I found the USAC program. Nevertheless, USAC helped me every step of the way from before I departed until I made it back home. As I lived in London, my USAC counselor would offer to meet with us whenever we needed to and was always just a phone call/text away. Though I had my independence and as much free time as you could ever imagine, I also had massive support from the school and the USAC program. In my situation, I lived with five other girls (not including myself) and luckily we all became the closest of friends. I can't say this happens to everyone but the USAC program is very accommodating if you need to change rooms or locations. My London roommates and I often traveled and went on many excursions together which was amazing. My absolute favorite aspect about USAC is the amount of trips they offer you when you're abroad. So, if you have a hard time planning trips or don't feel comfortable doing so abroad, don't worry because USAC will offer a handful of trips fully planned themselves!

I had the most fun in my time abroad in London, England. My program duration was just six weeks long, but I had a blast start to finish. I was able to do so many things I never thought I'd be able to do like traveling to Brighton on my own, visiting Stonehenge, touring Buckingham Palace, seeing tons of Theatre productions, drinking phenomenal coffee, and generally getting to know the beauty that is London.

Wonderful but expensive

Costs were quite a bit more than anticipated but definitely worth it and I don’t regret going to do it. The experiences and friends I had made are people I’m still talking to at least 3-5 months later. The rooming situation was a bit rough initially, but it got so much better. The accommodation was not far at all to the school we attended, but there was quite a bit of not mixing with locals which kind of sucked. I made great friends with other people in the program and a very few amount of friends outside of it, but again it was a great experience and I highly recommend.

USAC ROCKS!

My experience of Studying Aboard with USAC Studying aboard with a program was great. I was planning to study abroad in London since I was 15. I didn’t know how to transfer credit, if I needed a visa, how to find housing or anything and USAC help answer all of my questions. USAC also gave me the opportunity to work with an amazing license therapist that helped me adjust to the new country. I enjoyed having that extra support. I felt safer with USAC as I did a lot of solo backpacking around Europe but my program advisor always knew what country I was in and I had a adult emergency contact in Europe if that could help me out no matter what country I was in since USAC is in so many countries in Europe. I enjoyed having planned day trips that encouraged exploration of new culture. I also very much enjoyed being able to be a social media brand ambassador as that helped my CV. Life changing experience!

Last year I studied abroad in London, England. I chose the full year of study abroad because I wanted to submerge myself in the culture completely. At first I was scared I wouldn’t know where to go, or classes would be way too hard. However, once I arrived I had so much support through USAC and met so many other study abroad people, I immediately calmed down. Months have passed since studying abroad, and to this day I am still friends with many of the people I met. Whilst studying abroad I also met some locals, and now today I live in London full time. If I didn’t take that leap of faith to study abroad, I would not be living in my dream city today. That year studying abroad changed my life, and I am so grateful for all the memories I have.

The field trips, knowledge, classes, and culture were so amazing and will be something I will highly recommend to anyone!

This was the adventure of a life time and I couldn't recommend it more to anyone who wants to go abroad. The ease of traveling when you are in Europe is the best part about being over there. I had 4 classes that would meet once a week so there was plenty of time to go and explore London and the rest of the world. I visited 6 different countries while I was abroad and every single one of them was a learning experience. USAC also takes you on field trips around the U.K. (some over night and some not) and those were always an awesome way to find out more about the country and area where you are living.
