Psychology is one of the most popular majors worldwide. In addition to being one of the most fascinating and dynamic fields of science, it also provides a springboard for a wide range of opportunities for graduate study as well as exciting career choices. The UNYP Bachelor in Psychology degree runs for a four-year period. Its aim is to provide students with a solid foundation in science – particularly the study of behavior and the mind – through theory and practical experience in all of the major fields of psychology. Basic courses emphasize scientific thought, critical thinking, and analysis. More specialized courses address therapy and treatment of mental illness, cultural and family issues, as well as psychology in the workplace. Studies pave the way for two primary post-degree career choices: continuing on to pursue a graduate degree or direct entry into the workforce. Roughly 80% of UNYP psychology degree recipients continue their studies after graduation to complete master's and doctoral degrees from universities in the Czech Republic and abroad.

Even though I missed the orientation week due to travel issues, I felt welcomed on my first day of studies and met a lot of great people. The instructors are great and very helpful and supportive. The campus is in a nice area in Prague and easy to navigate.

At UNYP I found some people that became my friends. Especially regarding the psychology bachelor's degree, I find that the people were most of the times, very outgoing, warm and welcoming. There are a few exceptional professors at UNYP who make learning about psychology fun and engaging. One more reason to join there class. There is a wide variety of courses to choose from, but one has to be careful with statistics, and some other courses, because those are sometimes taught by professors that do not have a background in psychology. Also the financial strain is a bit larger, so it is important to keep that in mind. On the other hand, UNYP has a plenty of options of going abroad on the Erasmus programme, and I must say, that the Erasmus programme in Spain, Madrid, was a total blast. In other words, if you would like to meet interesting people on this degree, this is the place for you (just beware of the exam week - all exams happen during the last week of the semester and it is not a fun experience).

Very difficult but wonderful

Price of uni, housing, and not understandable health care. Those are incredibly hard. The studies are interesting and Czech Republic is wonderful. I don't regret it, but it's difficult, especially when you do everything alone, and try to work and study just to afford a better life
