About University of Amsterdam
The University of Amsterdam is a leading modern university. Established in 1632, our institution boasts of a long and rich history. We are also the country’s largest university by enrollment, with students spread across seven faculties: Dentistry, Medicine, Economics and Business, Law, Science, Social and Behavioural Sciences, and Humanities. We maintain close ties with international higher education institutions through our membership in the European University Association (EUA), the League of European Research Universities (LERU), Universitas 21, the International Student Exchange Programs (ISEP), and the Institutional Network of the Universities from the Capitals of Europe (UNICA).
Summer schools at the University of Amsterdam run in June, July and August. We offer intensive, interdisciplinary and high quality summer programmes in a range of topics: from Urban Studies to Sexuality Studies and from Migration to Branding. The beauty of Amsterdam
Amsterdam is one of the most beautiful European cities I have been too, with human scale buildings, intricate architecture, and a very vibrant culture. With this program, i managed to see the many sides to Amsterdam, as well as the Netherlands an ordinary tourist would not get to experience, and am very thankful for that. Class also gave me a better insight into the dutch culture, history, and planning visions, enabling me to appreciate the landscape and urban plans better. I really enjoyed my time in Amsterdam and the Netherlands!
