I recently completed the TESOL & TEFL Certificate Course Information at UNI-Prep Institute, and I highly recommend it for two key reasons. As an educator balancing a busy life with work and family commitments, I appreciated the self-paced nature of this course. I was able to complete it in just two weeks, working at my own convenience. A perfect course if you've extensively studied English. You will not have to spend hours reviewing what you've already learned. I imagine other courses really start from the bottom-up (which would be helpful to those with non-English degrees). This would be redundant and wasteful if you've genuinely studied the English language already. The knowledge specifically for teaching is emphasized and I never felt my time was wasted. And certainly not my money.

The course was short but very informative. The videos were very help and easy to understand, as were the reading files. All the materials were well prepared; they were concise but used good examples to explain topics better. Personally, I found the additional tips for teaching and classroom activities quite helpful since this is will be first time teaching english professionally.

I really enjoyed the UNI-Prep course. Being retired a year ago, I did not approach the course as a hobby, and the course itself did not let me take it as such. All the course units required my total engagement to reading them and successfully taking the quiz. It is very nice and helpful that the course has provided reference materials to each unit. I have completed a TESOL course from UNI-Prep. I found that the content they provide, as well as the materials that come alongside is really helpful for being a teacher, from teaching elementary level students to more advanced one.

I mostly teach young students at the beginner level – rather at elementary school. The fact that the students don’t have the ability to read and write in English always add to the difficulty in teaching these students. The Younger beginners are also a fun group to teach, especially due to the fact that they tend to have more energy. The students also have a more open view and approach to English and thus the world. Their Young minds, keen on taking in the new information as the fun teacher coax them into learning as he plays. In teaching these students, one should always start with the basics of language; these include phonics, phonetics and the alphabet when the students have a different alphabet than English. In this case I can agree that the students love to learn the new alphabet, when there are cute and fun characters to explain the sounds and to show a new word. Pronunciation, punctuation and other harder topics of the language should always be practiced by repetition, writing and learning the spelling. The younger the students the more fun you can have in adding songs and crafts to the lesson. This also helps them to concentrate on the lesson for a bit longer than is usually seen in their normal classroom setting – this is my view, the classes I give are more on the active and almost crazy part. The students react quite fondly to the different games and less strict classes. Their ability to create and interact to the lesson is drastically higher. This amazes the normal teachers who teach in the strict Korean system. The classroom setting for the younger learners should allow the possibility for team work, this helps the teacher to investigate areas where the students struggle with, and what activities make the students think and react more. Also the more activities that force students into competition is done, the more reactive the students are to the learning of the new language. The teacher should also consider that the younger students have lower attention spans, so the more fun they have, the better they learn, thus if something seems like work the less receptive the student will be. Progress is a slow thing, and the more the students are stimulated, and as the time goes on the more the teacher can start to focus on adding a few new things to what have been learned. Also a teacher should always give praise to the students as this is their source of encouragement. In teaching older to adult beginners, one would find it harder, as the older the student the harder it is to take in information. Teaching older beginners is also fun; this means that the lessons don’t have to be “childish” and more appropriate to the age group being taught. The theories for younger learners also apply to this group. The lesson should be fun, and embracive to the students’ own surrounding. The activities and work papers can also be changed to suite the need of the older students. The teacher should try to get to know the students individually, as this will give him a set view or reason why the student want to learn English. In class the older students should be made more comfortable in an environment of groups or pairs. This will help them to cope more with the stress of learning a new language, when they know there are someone that also struggle with the same problems he or she does. So in a brief overview I can say that to add music, art pictures, fun activities and worksheets to the lesson would help to stimulate the learning process for the different beginner level students. The activities and lessons shouldn’t be to long and boring. Also the more body language, especially facial expression the teacher use in explaining the topic, the better the students will understand what is wanted form them

I enjoyed working on my own intative, the quick response to my queries and timely feedback. I took a month and two days to complete the course. The units was very user friendly with videos, material as well as additional resources needed to help me with teaching.

I completed this course in one-week! There are 10 units, you are able to read the PDF information documents and watch the accompanying video lecture (which never exceeded 20 minutes) in order to gain all of the necessary information needed for each unit. You then take a 5-10 question quiz after each unit. Once all 10 units are complete, you earn your certificate!!! This course was very informative and easy to follow along with. The extra PDF informational documents are very detailed. Lastly, you are also given PDF informational documents regarding next steps with updating your resume and applying for a job. I feel very confident and inspired after taking this course!

I've been teaching ESL in Taiwan for quite a number of years and I found this course excellent. It covered all the important points of teaching ESL in a very concise manner. The course was laid out very logically and gave good examples when needed. In addition, the tests were designed very well. I would definitely recommend this course.

I am grateful for finding UNI-PREP, which helped me acquire a TESOL certificate, especially in this pandemic where the face-to-face transaction in my country is strictly prohibited. I did my training at my own pace without worrying about a deadline. Being severely affected by the super typhoon Odette, my training was likewise in jeopardy. The power supply was down, affecting the communication in my whole province. Thankfully, after more than three months of waiting for the power restoration, I completed the TESOL training. Aside from the very convenient time, instructional materials are easy to comprehend. Uni-Prep was an affordable, comprehensive, enriching and educational choice to learn everything I need to know about the teaching profession. Nonetheless, I was able to earn a teaching certificate in less time than I would if I were to enroll in a course at a traditional, on-sight school/college. Not only was the training very insightful and top-notch, but the helpful guides on English grammar are resources that I could use for a lifetime (not just in the classroom as a teacher) but for my own personal usage in my social life that requires a great deal of communication.

As an experienced teacher (10 years) I took this course as a refresher whilst working on other certs during the current lockdowns. While it wasn't difficult for me, many of the techniques, activities and methodologies are very familiar, I can definitively see the benefit for those taking their first steps. And it was good ot be reminded of some things I may have left behind all those years ago.

I like how affordable and effective the learning material is, to teach the basics of TESOL. The video of each module is easy to follow, and I do appreciate a written study guide version of the information presented in the video as a downloadable PDF for review later. The tests for each module is a simple 7-10 questions (multiple choice or true-false) with a usual 2-3 hour time to finish and opportunities to retake the tests for a higher score.

Getting the certificate was not that difficult. The videos provided as well as the reading sheets are helpful for people with no prior teaching experience. Overall it's a good cheap program compared to other TEFL programs out there.

I have looked around a lot for an affordable good program. This was better than the one I tried before. I still found the materials not too broad. So it depends on what you are looking for in a Tesol program. It had quick chapters and there were only quizzes to check what you have learned which is not enough. I would have enjoyed more assignments so I can learn more and practice. I like the videos. The tutor support was okay just takes couple days for a response. The admin was supportive.

This site was very easy to navigate. The lessons were nicely broken down by chapter & quizzes as well as videos. The only thing that was slightly strange was some of the questions didnt pertain to that actual chapter at times. Other than that, I would say this is a great program.

The course was laid out well but there was no person or entity there to help at all and there wasn’t even a help button. There was no forum discussions at all, it was always empty. No one checked in or followed up. The course was self put together just for you and only you it seems. I didn’t see or hear from a single soul. Im hoping this improves.

This is an easy to understand and process online course with fundamentals of each topic clearly laid out. It is doable within a week if you dedicate a few hours each day. Each video is supported with a pdf document which basically contains a more detailed scrip of the video contents. I'd recommend it to anyone who has limited time due to other commitments or perhaps has already obtained some teaching experience based on their university degree but has not obtain an official teaching certification.

The course offered a pleasant experience with insightful lessons, providing useful knowledge, advice and tips for teachers of English. The materials were well-designed. I especially enjoyed the consistency of the format: a video, followed by reading materials that expand on what has been mentioned in the lecture. This not only establishes my expectation, but also helps me reinforce my own understanding on the subject matters. The quizzes were very to the point. They were brief (not what I usually expect), but they touched on the most important aspect of the lesson. The fact that you (only) have two attempts also means you have to really grasp the materials to do well. I also found the amount of knowledge appropriate. In hindsight, I must admit it was nowhere near impressive, but it was sufficient for such a basic level. Also, this amount works well for people with limited teaching experience, or those with short attention span (like me). My only complaint would be on the theoretical nature of the course. I wish it had offered much more examples, or points to other sources for examples. That would have been of great help. Also, having some kinds of interaction (ie. live support, discussion boards, etc.) would also be recommended. Overall, I would give a 9.3 for the whole experience.

The online program has 10 teaching units which are very well structured. Furthermore, studying is very flexible because you can study at your own pace. The material that is given really equips you to be prepared for teaching and Uni-Prep helps you with finding a job whenever you've completed your courses. I would recommend this online program 100%!

This is the best online certificate course to get my TESOL certificate for me，it was at a competitive price! The course work was simple, effective, useful, and extremely use convenient. On the occasion that I needed to contact UNI-Prep, they were extremely punctual and professional. The instructional videos（with the slide of PPT） were very easy to understand. They really do all they can to set their students up for success. Seriously not only do they teach you how to teach the English language, but they also give holistic teaching advice and stress caring about the students we'll potentially have in the future. I am planning to teach English overseas, yet needed an accredited certificate to do so. I found UNI-Prep Institute when comparing a list of different Institutes who offered TESOL certificates/degrees. By far they were and are the most friendly, professional, punctual, and affordable out of any that I have done research on. The course content is extremely easy to understand, and very informative. They really set their students up for success by teaching them well, giving ample resources, and will even help students find jobs if applicable. UNI-Prep also teaches in a holistic manner. What I mean is that instead of saying teach X or Y, they also teach that there is great care and consideration to be had for our future student's lives, purpose of learning, confidence, and progress.

My experience with the programm was very interesting, the material was clear and easy to understand. I learned lot of new things also I could remember material that i have forgotten. i took a time to do the quizzes and try to have a great grade. I recommend this program i think it is the best place to study a tesol program.

The course was very fluid and straight forward. I appreciated having a video to watch as well as a PDF document of each unit to be able to read or watch the video over again if needed. The only complaint I had about the course is that some of the answers in the quizzes are not accurate. The PDF and video would state the clear answer and on the quiz it would grade it as incorrect. This happened through out about 4 of the unit quizzes. Luckily, you can re-attempt the quiz a second time to correct your answer, (the highest score is the one counted into your grade) but it would be nice to get the answer right the first time when it is listed in the material.

I needed a 120-hour TESOL or TEFL certificate to be able to applying for a job teaching English to Chinese students online. I registered for Uni-Prep's course and was able to budget my time with the self study program to complete the course in 1.5 weeks. This was ideal for me! I loved the self-pacing, combination of video and readings, and the quizzes that could be taken twice so that I could review any missed material. I think that the program depth and breadth was good and there were always works cited at the end of the readings for folks who want to dive in deeper. I would recommend this program to colleagues! What would you improve about this program? I think that each of the quizzes should have been the same length of questions. Some were 7 questions, while others were 8 or 10. This lead to inconsistencies with the weight of each question.

I'm already a teacher and a native English speaker so I went into the course thinking that there was not much more that this course could offer. I was pleasantly surprised. The course was full of useful and interesting information. It was not difficult but challenging enough to make the learning exciting. One recruiter with whom I have been talking, highly recommends the 120-hour TESOL certification from UNIPREP so I am sure I will be able to greatly improve my chances of securing a job.

After completing the assignments of the course, I feel that I am qualified for teaching English. I enjoyed the course overall! I like the go-at-your-own-pace aspect; it took me about 3 weeks to complete. I have yet to apply to jobs, so I'm not sure how to Uni-Prep name and accreditation will fare, but I'm still excited I can start applying for positions now! The course is straight-forward and easy to navigate; I didn't need any help through the course so I'm not sure how available they are to their students, but the enrollment letter says "please allow 1-2 weeks for a response." Overall, I liked the experience and feel more prepared to teach English.

Since I need the certificate, I studied hard and I finished the course in a short time. It is very interesting and I took notes about how to plan reading, speaking, listening and writing lessons. I have been teaching since 2001, but I learned so many useful ideas and especially strategies. Moreover, it is helpful when it comes to assessment, because it is sometimes hard for teachers to assess our students. Quizzez are not hard, but you have to read through all the files and listen carefully to the videos in order to be successful. I could have done better, but I needed more time. Anyway, I wrote dow all the information in my notebook so I will read them again.

An excellent system I have been teaching for over 15 years and it was a fun learning experience for me, a lot of tips and great advice as well as tools to make your life a whole lot easier, It is 120 hours long but it could be finished in a lot less time than that, It took me less than a week with 3 hours a day, you have plenty of time to do each quiz so you never feel pressured, The quiz system is great because you don't have to submit a final exam at the end of the course. highly recommended especially if you only have an hour or so a day, you could do this at your own pace from the comfort of home, the office or anywhere. you are always able to pick up where you left off and know that your progress is always saved automatically for you. My title pretty much covers it. This is a pretty simple course with plenty of practical teaching advice in each unit. I'm sure there are much more intensive programs to choose from but those come at the cost of a considerable amount of both time and money. Uni-Prep is affordable, straightforward, and if you survived doing college assignments online, you'll survive this. I can't make any comments about the quality of response time from the staff since I never contacted them but if you just do the quizzes, watch the videos, and check everything off the checklist, you'll do fine. Teaching abroad is difficult and involves so much certification, so many things to sign and notarize. Why put up with that if you don't have to? Uni-Prep saves you that trouble.

I majored in areas completely different from teaching when I went to college, but then I found myself with a change of heart (and location) ten years later. Teach abroad is wonderful! Being able to be apart of a different culture, seeing how things work in the world other than the United States is mind opening. There is nothing better then being able to take what you love doing and love teaching, and giving that to your students to help them love learning, trying new things, new culture, language. It is wonderful to see and be apart of.

This is a good basic learning experience. I found the lectures very easy to follow. Once in a while I wished there were more examples (as they cover a lot of concepts) but also understand that it is hard to give examples for all the different age groups that might be in your classroom. I recommend this course.

This program was geared for College Graduates who have little or no teaching experience, so lesson plans, classroom discipline, etc. would be helpful. I have several decades of teaching experience so a lot of it was redundant. I only have a few years teaching ESL and found that instruction very useful and practical.

I enjoyed the TESOL course - as a seasoned teacher, it really helped me to focus my teaching skills to benefit EFL/EAL students. It gave a lot of useful activities and ideas, plus good foundational principles and knowledge, often drawing attention to things that are so automatic as a native speaker, that they are often overlooked. I was able to complete the course comfortably in less than a fortnight. My only frustration was the lack of feedback on the quizz answers, not even giving the correct answer when I got one wrong, let alone an explanation as to why. I'm a middle school teacher with thirteen years of experience. I've been tutoring adults in English for a few years and wanted to get my TESOL certificate. I saw the UNI-Prep course recommended on a few different websites and thought I would give it a try. Much of the materials were familiar to me, as a veteran teacher. It really helped me frame my existing skills in terms of English language learners. I would recommend this course to both beginners and veteran teacher who want a TESOL certificate.

I enjoyed taking my 120Hr TESOL course through UNI-Prep. The information was very clear and practical. It helps that I have a couple of years of teaching already. The only real negatives I can say about the course were that the videos were not very good quality and quite boring. I also wish there was some interaction/feedback after every Unit.

The text chapters for each lesson had good information and concepts introduced. But a number of concepts would have been easier to understand if examples had been provided. The videos were really good at reiterating the main ideas of the text chapters and provided examples for a few concepts where there hadn’t been any in the text, which was very helpful. But the sound quality on the videos was bad enough that it could be hard to hear even when my computer was at maximum volume. But one of the biggest benefits of this course for me was just the ability to go at my own pace. I found it very helpful to be able to set my own timelines for learning, studying, and taking the quizzes.

I found the written material well structured, informative, concise and the videos well presented. As an introduction to the world of ESL it gives a clear picture of what is involved and also works well as a quick refresher course.

Not a bad course if you happen to already have a lot of classroom experience but no certification. As someone who taught abroad for 11 years back in the day when TEFL certificates were not necessary, I had no desire to repeat classroom training, so this course was perfect to me. I was pleased to pick up several tips on creating more effective tests as well as fun classroom activities (we can all use more of those), and I especially appreciated the "Additional Resources" section at the end of every unit.

Everything in this course is useful, practical, and can be implemented immediately. I have many of the strategies with my ELL students. Focusing on the goal of the lesson/unit/course helps the student understand why the goals/expectations are set.

So at first, I was hesitant to do any course like this because a. I wasn't sure it was legit, b. I wasn't sure if it was worth the money and c. I was afraid it would be too difficult that it would take too much of my time studying. However, this TESOL Certification course proved me wrong. It was understandable and straight to the point while still giving a lot of important information needed in an actual TESOL classroom. I like how in each unit we were given a video, a pdf file and a quiz. I would very much recommend this course and UNI-Prep to any one looking to find a quick budget-friendly informative course.

I only have 2 problems with this course. Some of the videos have low audio quality, and it takes way less than 120 hours. It has 10 lessons that they told me would take 2-3 hours each, which is only 20-30 hours by their count. It was quick, easy, and relevant.

I really enjoyed taking TEFL certificate program.I read through all the lessons within the first week.The material was easy to understand and the quizzes matched what I studied in the PDFs.I think that they should offer additional guided practice for students and should show correct answers to quizzes.

I have just completed the course and it took me a week and a half. Everything that has been taught to me is so beneficial and it helped me enhance my teaching skills and awareness in general. For those who are thinking to apply, don't hesitate, it is highly recommended.

Very good course, not that expensive, but useful. Grading can be more difficult, more requiring. Second attempt-question should be differentiated. More exemplars to provide, and if possible, PROVIDE ONLINE FREE TEACHING FOR PRACTICE. Engage students more during learning process, by putting quizzes after severally proper sections. Well, I needed a fast TEFL and they delivered. The course is extremely flexible and the information is quite exhaustive. The price is good. I did have trouble with the quizzes never explaining why the answers were wrong, even if I got it wrong on the second try. However getting the same question incorrect twice seldom occurred. I'd recommend it for sure if you do need a TEFL.

Hi, My intention of taking this course is to do something I am passionate about and to share the knowledge with who has interest in learning and practicing the English language. The course was great. I was able to complete it in what I thought to be reasonable time. The quizzes were relevant to the material present. While i am not a fan of the multiple choice quiz format as a means to check knowledge retention, it definitely speeds up the process. Coming into this course I knew very little about teaching various age groups and was a bit intimidated by the idea. First, price. Second, time saving. Third, I can do whenever I want and the TESOL course itself has advantages for getting an English teaching job. I recommend it for those who works hard in ESL course already. You can work and get the certificate at the same time.

This course was straightforward and to the point. I appreciated being able to work on material during my own time. The learning modules were simple and not too length. I also greatly enjoyed the video presentation. They were easy to follow and provided valuable information.

The program is organized in a simple manner, there are nine sections that you must go through, and one extra section to help you out with just some side stuff. There is a reading subsection, a video sub section , and a Quiz subsection. The reading put all the information forwards and also had many useful things that section 10 has (things that can be applied in the classroom). The videos did a good job summarizing the reading portion, I recommend to first read then watch the video. The guy who made the videos added some examples and explanations and overall did a good job, an applause to him. The quizzes weren't too hard or long. The three hour time limit gives you freedom in case something urgent comes up, as it did with me. The two attempts help because it allows you to see your mistakes, and read over what you didn't quite understand. Good Course.

I thoroughly enjoy the course. There are 10 Units consisting of reading manual and video for each unit followed by Quiz. Quizzes are relatively easy and assessment materials could be improved to develop critical thinking and lessons plannings skills of the TESOL students. Overall, I enjoy this course.

I was impressed with the quality and foresight of the content of the courses and I was also impressed impressed with follow up of my tutor Geoff Abbott. I couldn't help but feel that he teaches students that are taking ESL classes at a local university or is the chair for the program. I thought that the Business English module was well prepared in preparing the teacher to teach Business English. The content was excellent.

Easy course that provides a basic overview of teaching English to non-native speakers. The online, at your own pace atmosphere makes it easy to complete anywhere you can take a phone. The tests were fairly easy and did a good job representing the provided material. The last section provided some good ideas on how to use extra teaching tools to provide a good classroom experience.

The online format of the program is advantageous in that anyone can complete his/her TESOL certification or diploma when he/she has the time. It is easily accessible and user-friendly. The work is not overwhelming and contains quality information. Most importantly, it allows an individual to open new career possibilities quickly and inexpensively.

I took the Certificate course which I thought was great. Only criticism I have is fixing the captions on the videos along with the small number of spelling/grammar errors. One thing I would like to see as well is possibly examples of lessons plans for the different age groups and/or levels of students.

I liked this course as it could be accessed anytime and anywhere at your choosing. As a father with a young daughter and working full time I am pretty busy with little spare time, however this course offers so much flexibility that you just need the internet and an hour a day to hammer away at that in a few weeks of hard work you can complete it.

This is a very good course! As someone with no formal training as a teacher, it served to highlight some of the things I had been doing correctly with my students, as well as pointing out many things that I could be doing better. I was generally happy with the course. It gave a good overall idea of what to expect, and what will be expected of me when I'm teaching English as a second language. I would have hoped for more variable exercises. For example, there could have been video clips of teaching situations, and students could try to spot teachers errors. I would recommend this course for someone who is interested in obtaining a TESOL-certificate online.

Good value for money. Intuitive and easy to navigate elearning site. The material was informative yet easy to digest. With some dedication this TEFL course can be completed in a few weeks yet you have to option of taking up to a year if you postpone your job search or for whatever other reason. This was an effective and expeditious course. The material was well organized and mostly well presented. Some of the written units were a bit redundant and could've benefited from editing, but they weren't bad. The videos were a good supplement. Each module's focus was clear and to the point, and having access to both written and video materials was very useful. I am willing to let everybody know about Uni-Prep`s online course. I was very much excited before enrolling in this course and after completing it I don`t regret it. There is no such a feeling that I wasted my time because the material was rather useful for teachers of English, understandable and interesting to read. There were no loads of information that you couldn`t put in your mind and memorize, only important and compact information. The videos were also a valuable addition to the course, it helped to understand everything more thoroughly. If you miss something from the written text you can go and watch the video and everything will be clearly explained to you.
