The University of the West Indies, Mona

The University of the West Indies (UWI) is a regional public university founded in 1948 to serve the Caribbean's higher education and development needs. Established initially as a college of the University of London in Jamaica, The UWI has grown into one of the leading higher education institutions in the Global South, supporting the advancement of 18 English-speaking countries and territories across the Caribbean.

Today, The UWI operates a multi-campus system with major campuses located at Mona in Jamaica, St Augustine in Trinidad and Tobago, and Cave Hill in Barbados, along with a Global Campus that extends the University’s reach through online and blended learning.
