Join a program that combines volunteering and studying the Portuguese Language. During the first two weeks, participants will study the Portuguese Language, receive an orientation on Olinda (and the surrounding area), and a volunteer orientation. You are always welcome to take more than two weeks of Portuguese classes while volunteering. Participants at the intermediate level of Portuguese can begin volunteering after the first week. Participants at the beginner level may be required to take 4 weeks of classes before starting their volunteer placement (depending on the specific placement requested). Most placements prefer a commitment of 4 weeks but will accept volunteers for a minimum commitment of 2 weeks.
