Architecture internship
March 03, 2026by: Josefa Vergara - ChileProgram: International Internships in Madrid
My experience with The Intern Group in Madrid fully met my expectations, and I am leaving the city incredibly happy and grateful for everything I experienced. From a professional perspective, as an architecture student, one of my main concerns was finding an internship that truly matched my field of study. The Intern Group successfully placed me in a company that was well aligned with my academic background and professional interests. The company was relatively small, which, in my opinion, turned out to be a great advantage. On a daily basis, I received very personalized feedback on my work, and the work environment felt close and supportive. I never felt like “just another intern,” but rather like a valued member of the team. Regarding the language aspect, it was not a problem for me since Spanish is my first language and my internship was conducted in Spanish. However, the social side of the program was mainly in English, as interns come from all over the world. This actually became a great opportunity for me to practice and improve my English in a very natural way, which I truly appreciated. As for the accommodation, it was very good overall. The location was really good, well connected to public transportation and conveniently situated. One important thing to consider is that you may share the apartment not only with other interns from The Intern Group, but also with external tenants. If you are not used to living with people you don’t know, this is something to keep in mind. That being said, in my personal experience, living with other people was very positive. Living with other interns from the program also created a sense of community and support, it felt reassuring to have people going through the same experience under the same roof. Socially, I would say this is one of the strongest aspects of the program. There were always activities organized throughout the week, which made it very easy to meet other interns. I am leaving Madrid with great friendships and connections with people from all over the world, which is something I truly value. In conclusion, this is a very complete experience in all aspects, professional, personal, and social. I would definitely recommend it to anyone considering doing an international internship. It has been an enriching experience that I will always look back on with appreciation.
Thank you for sharing, Josefa! We’re so glad your experience in Madrid was fulfilling both professionally and socially. It’s wonderful that your placement felt like the right fit and that you’re leaving with lasting friendships. We can't wait to see all you achieve next!
eye opening experience

Im so grateful that my university partners with the intern group because they did a phoenominal job at finding housing, giving us metro cards, hosting meetups, and always beting there during times of crisis.
Thank you, Abigael! It’s fantastic to hear that your experience with The Intern Group was so positive. From housing and metro cards to meetups and support when it mattered most, we’re so glad our team could be there for you every step of the way!
Loved every second of it
February 25, 2026by: Ashley Gamez - United StatesProgram: International Internships in Madrid
My experience with the intern group was incredibly helpful, especially as someone who had never done an internship abroad before. Moving to a new country and adjusting to everything can feel overwhelming, but they supported me through the entire process. They helped with the logistics, accommodation, and even getting my metro card, which made settling in so much easier and allowed me to focus on my internship. As a marketing graduate, I was able to learn new marketing skills and gain real-world experience in an international setting. At the same time, I also met amazing people and built friendships that I know will last a lifetime. What I appreciated most about this program was the balance between professional growth and social life. It wasn’t just about working—it was also about building connections, exploring a new place, and creating meaningful experiences. I’m very grateful for everything the intern group provided and for making this experience both valuable and memorable.
Thank you for sharing, Ashley! We’re so glad The Intern Group made your first internship abroad smooth and rewarding. It’s wonderful you gained valuable marketing experience, made lasting friendships, and explored a new country along the way!

The first instance when I pondered going abroad was when I was visiting friends in England. As I did a study abroad placement at a university there, returning to that city and reminiscing about that time in my life made me reflect how that learning experience taught me so much.
