It was not a holiday but a real taste of life in Thailand. A very beautiful Country. I met some amazing people out there and have so many wonderful memories. Teaching in Thailand was amazing. The whole journey has opened my eyes and made me realise how different people live. I was able to experience Thai culture in such a different way, eating new foods, meeting new people, teaching in a Thai school and having a fantastic time. Memories that will stay with me for a long time. I was definitely out of my comfort zone and going alone was quite nerve racking but I wouldn't change it. I would do it all over again!

Lots of unexpected things happen, because this is preparation to work in a foreign country. But the course and the job finding assistance is well organized, and it all fell into place easily. We had a good group, which made the whole experience more fun. Samui is a perfect place to learn, the fun way to do a course. The course prepared us to handle the real-world challenges of teaching English.

I took a lot from my experience of teaching in Thailand and living within a very Thai cultured environment. I learnt a lot about myself over the weeks and met some very special people who will stay with me forever. Its not for the faint hearted and you have to be truly in it to take every grain you can from the adventure. Tefl heaven is a great experience with the right blend of teaching experience and enjoyment, perfect for an introduction to teaching in a different country. I enjoyed every moment of time with tefl heaven. It was a great intro to tefl and was so much fun. I enjoyed teaching so much im planning to move to Thailand in july 2014 to take a 120hr Tefl and hopefully find work teaching. It was the 6 weeks with tefl heaven that has given me the confidence to try teaching on a more permenant basis. Tefl heaven gives you the tools and confidence to go and teach English to young learners in Thai schools. It also gives you an oppotunity to sample the good things thailand has to offer such as great food, vibrante cities and beautiful beaches.

I know it sounds cheesy but this course really did change my life. I discovered a side of me that I didn't even know existed and I went on to teach age groups that both surprised and delighted me. I learnt skills, songs, games and skills that enable me to do my job now on a daily basis. I love teaching and I would highly recommend anyone to try it. They absolutely won't look back. I absolutely loved the course. It was relaxed enough to learn lots of new things without really realising it. It was thorough and covered everything - a grammar refresher, to lesson planning, HOW to teach, confidence-building skills, blackboard/whiteboard skills, classroom management, games, researching for lessons, CV creation and job searching. We all did multiple teacher practicals which prepared us thoroughly for the real world of teaching. The instructors made themselves available throughout the course for support regarding lesson plans, problems that popped up during teaching practicals or even finding jobs afterwards and of course any problems you experienced on the course itself.

TEFL Heaven is the most incredible thing I’ve done in my life so far. Although it is very hard to put into words, I can say that it was everything I expected it to be, but actually so much more than that. Living with a Thai family and teaching English in the local school is an extraordinary experience. To put it simply, adapting to the daily routine turned out to be a little disorienting at first, but in the end I would have given anything for it not to end. It is a special thing to live a different life, on a different planet for a few weeks. My host family were wonderful, as are most of the people in Thailand. Incredibly kind and welcoming, they laugh all the time and joke about everything. In addition to discovering the culture, traditions and everyday life of Thai people, I did elephant trekking, bamboo rafting, waterfalls, hanging out with tigers and a lot more unforgettable stuff! Oh and I also got to spend 10 days in paradise (aka Koh Chang training island).

What a blast! If you want to teach English in Thailand, this is the place to learn how. The quality of instruction and the amount of actual teaching practice made this program superb. Would do it again in a heart beat.

All in all I had a blast doing my course and now having more fun than I ever imagined as a private tutor, you may think it a bit cheesy to give everything 5 stars but that's how I truly found the whole experience, from learning about lesson plans to making materials and the final execution of the 1st lesson (where everyone was shaking with nerves) but trust me the nerves soon melt away and in no time at all you will be teaching some of the most eager kids that you will ever meet that want to learn.

I highly recommend this course by TEFL Heaven. Awesome teachers, very effective course outline, and lots of teaching practice time. You will gain the confidence and skills you need to become a teacher.

Teaching in Thailand was one of the best things I did in 2012; one of my biggest achievement that year. I learnt so much about myself, Thai culture, food and the people within a short space of time. I loved my experience it pushed me completely out of my comfort zone and made me realise how much there is to see outside of the uk and everything I am used too. This was a unique and fantastic experience which allowed me to experience day to day life in another, completely different culture. I felt privileged to experience life in the 'huts' with Pao, and see such a beautiful place, as well as the wonderful school placements with so many great people. The initial support was fantastic, however I did feel a little isolated in the classroom in Chiang Mai. I felt that my initial guidance was not of use especially concerning class control. However the company responded quickly when the issue was raised and made casts amounts of effort to help us all as best they could during the remainder of our teaching time.

Amazing experience and life changing. I highly recommended this course. Participating in the course in Koh Samui fostered the opportunity to apply our course learning to an actual class setting and students. Rosanne and Kathryn were extremely supportive throughout the entire process of the course. Rosanne was answering my questions and concerns long before I arrived in Koh Samui and continues to do so. While Kathryn put a lot of time and effort into our learning ensuring success in the course. Both have gone above and beyond my expectations. The four week course demands a lot of time and effort but there was always something new and exciting each day to look forward to. Koh Samui also offers many fun activities to explore and engage in.

I feel so lucky to have gone on this trip. It is one of the best things I have ever done and can't wait to do it all again when I finish my degree. The people I have met from the short six weeks are all so special to me. I have a new found love of Thailand and will definitely be going back! I have gained so much from this experience. I am studying to be a teacher and this has broadened my view of teaching both personally and professionally. I don't know why I didn't do something like this sooner!

Going into the VTP program I really didn't know what to expect. I had minimal knowledge regarding Thai culture and teaching experience and now I feel comfortable applying the skills I learned during the program. It really expanded my international competency and I definitely feel that I have become a more worldly person as a result. The VTP program was a great experience that has allowed me to use what I've learned there and apply it to multiple situations since being home. Such as volunteering with children, traveling experiences, and cultrual values. It has been a major benefit for applying for Canadian Teachers College. This program was an absolute blast! I had so much fun during it and wish I had a bit more time to teach/explore the rest of Northern Thailand. Being able to actually spend time with the children outside the classroom and living with a Thai was a great way of getting first hand experience of their culture.

Just do it! I signed up for the course 3 days after I heard about it from a past student - I have NO REGRETS! One of the best experiences ever! My life has done a complete 360! I love it! Prepares you to face a class full of children or adults, without squirming! The benefits are plain to see. The course didn't guarantee me a job, but the support I received from Rosanne and Kathryn long after the course was over to find a job was amazing - they continue to help & support me even now (be it with books & ideas or extra work opportunities). Between the hard work & nerves before teacher-practicles/tests, there's plenty of fun to be had during class hours. Kathryn's lively style of teaching ensured plenty of laughs. The energy of your classmates also adds to this - made some great friends on the course.

It's difficult when you are in another country and trying to figure out which TEFL program to choose. Luckily, I picked the right course and I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to learn from Kathryn and Rosanne. TEFL Heaven is a great opportunity to experience a lifestyle miles apart from what is the norm in the UK. The team in Thailand are hardworking and look to do whatever they can to make sure you are getting the most from the experience. The teaching in the schools is incredibly challenging and it is important to be as prepared as possible beforehand. To summarise, if you are looking for something to take you out of your comfort zone and you want to improve the educational opportunities for others this VTP proves very rewarding.
