Teens of Color Abroad

This program gave me one of the best summers I have ever had! We were assigned to houses with host families with other students from the program; the living conditions were great and the family was very nice. We had very fun and interactive classes with our Spanish teacher: Juan Alberto everyday. We also had fun and beautiful daily excursions that were led by our guide Paula Cano. Overall, I would highly recommend this program to anyone who wants to start studying abroad and wants to experience what it’s like living in another country.

TOCA was probably one of the best experiences I have had in a while. I for one recommend that everyone try it, going to Spain for the first time was great. Being away from home was scary sure but with the trip leaders and the others around you'll be right at home. Another thing to note of course is the activities, Spain is BEAUTIFUL but to me the architecture is where its at, I highly recommend keeping yourself up for the Alhambra which personally was my favorite activity because of the history, and how beautiful it is. All in all TOCA is honestly what you make it, push yourself out there, and branch out to others, and even if you find yourself alone just know that there's an activity tomorrow brimming with new interactions and opportunities to learn.

Traveling with Teens of Color Abroad was truly a life-changing experience... From the vibrant culture to the breathtaking scenery, Spain was nothing short of magical. Our tour guide Marta was an absolute gem: incredibly smart, kind, and made every moment feel personal and unforgettable. I felt so seen, supported, and inspired throughout the journey. TOCA opened my eyes to the world in a way I’ll never forget, and I’m beyond grateful for the memories I made.
