About SUBIR AFRICA FOUNDATION-UGANDA

Subir Africa Foundation Uganda is a community based non profit organization having focus program area of health support, education support, food security and nutrition support, environment protection, economic strengthening/livelihood enhancement to vulnerable and marginalized individuals, groups, families, communities such as those living with HIV/AIDS, vulnerable women, adolescents in and out of schools, teenage mothers, PWDs Street children and those at risk to vulnerability and we support through Community and school outreaches, sustainable smart agriculture, supported research, partnerships and collaborations with organizations and institutions.

We also host volunteers and interns both virtually and in person. All our interns and volunteers get involved in community engagement and development work and interact with vulnerable and Marginalized individuals. Most of our work is community-based, and we work to tackle social problems

There is also cultural exchange during the internship; we shall attend some of the community cultural ceremonies, visit elders, and help them with domestic work.

What is the internship and volunteer program about?

We always welcome volunteers from difference back ground who will help in fulfilling the organization's goals and objectives to build resilient and sustainable communities. Through community work, school activities, health outreaches, food security and nutritional support we do all the activities by increased awareness, trainings, vocational skilling, psychosocial support among those in need. Wash projects are also part of the work.

What are the costs needed for internship and volunteering?

The program costs depends on the required the intern or volunteers may need from us including Shelter, feeding program.

If we are responsible for your shelter and feeding at the volunteer house it costs differently, and if you decide to cater for your own hostel it also differ and if you are to stay with us at volunteer house minus food it is also different but lunch is being gotten at the project as other staff members. We discuss more after.

Type of volunteers & interns and from which fields? How long to host?

We welcome volunteers from all fields as long as has the passion in community development work, and all individuals, groups, families, from any education background but having different skills that he/she wants to put into practice and use them to make a difference to the world. We host volunteers and interns from any country, any continent 

We host volunteers from one day and above and interns from 3 days to one year and above.
