Child Labor & Trafficking Internship Program
Program Overview
Join the fight against child labor and trafficking with St. Miracle Works Educational Foundation (SMWEF) in Ghana. This project raises awareness through school talks focused on children's rights, literacy, financial management, and community pride. It’s ideal for international students, volunteers, and research groups studying the causes, dangers, and effects of child labor and trafficking. Volunteers work directly with children, families, fishermen, schools, and the Department of Social Welfare to combat these practices in fishing communities.
Volunteer & Intern tasks include:
• Hosting educational talks to raise awareness
• Conducting interviews with families, victims, and fishermen
• Entering and analyzing data and attending meetings with community leaders
• Negotiating solutions to rescue children
• Writing reports and donor proposals; supporting daily office duties
• Helping select children eligible for sponsorship to return to school
No prior experience is required—just a passion to help.
