Cordoba: perfect city, decent program, you have to go!
October 19, 2012by: Alex GProgram: Córdoba, Argentina | Liberal Arts in SpanishCordoba, Argentina is the perfect city to study abroad if you want to better your Spanish and have a real immersion experience. The city is small enough where very few people speak Spanish, and large enough where you never get bored. Spanish Studies Abroad is a good program--if you are looking for challenging academics, that is not the forte of this program--however, you do have the option of taking classes with students at UNC, and that is where the academic rigor kicks in. The regular PECLA classes are structured in a way that you will learn but still have lots of time to travel and enjoy. There is a one-month intensive language course at the beginning that is nice to get you acclimated to the language, and then you choose your other courses after that. While the administration has been shifting hands over the last couple semesters, they are getting the kinks worked out to make it better and better. Even though there are ways Spanish Studies Abroad can improve, I would highly recommend Cordoba and this program.
