Marine Science A-Level Course
by SORCE
Program Overview
Our Marine Science A-Level course, accredited by Cambridge International, offers an intensive, fast-tracked pathway to earning a globally recognized pre-university qualification in just 16 weeks, starting in January and July. Whether you’re looking to kick-start a career in marine conservation, prepare for a university science program, or simply deepen your understanding of the ocean, this is your gateway to achieving your goals.
At SORCE, learning goes far beyond the classroom. Nestled in the heart of the Coral Triangle, our research and conservation field school immerses you in the world of marine science. From the first dive into vibrant coral reefs to participating in hands-on conservation projects, every moment is an opportunity to live and breathe marine science alongside a community of ocean enthusiasts from around the globe.
The program is divided into two stages: AS Level and A2 Level. The AS Level introduces core concepts, from the dynamics of marine ecosystems to the environmental processes that sustain our ocean. Building on this, the A2 Level focuses on the relationship between humans and the sea, exploring the ways we benefit from and impact marine environments.

We run this course twice a year, once starting in January and again in July.
Do I need a diving certification?
Scuba diving is a key part of the practical learning experience. If you’re not already certified, we offer PADI Open Water and Advanced courses as part of your A-Level to help you gain the skills needed for underwater fieldwork. If you are already certified, a discounted rate is applied to the cost of your A-Level course. Please get in touch with us for more information if you require it.
Who is eligible to enroll in the Marine Science A-Level course?
Our course is open to anyone passionate about marine science and eager to dedicate themselves to this intensive learning experience. If you’re a recent school graduate planning for university, someone considering a career change, or simply a marine enthusiast keen to expand your knowledge, you’re welcome to apply. While prior academic experience in science can be beneficial, it’s not mandatory; what matters most is your commitment and enthusiasm.
