Program Overview

Examine biodiversity, conservation, resource-use patterns, and wildlife restoration on the islands of Bali and Borneo. Journey through villages, volcanic landscapes, plantations, forests, coral reefs, mangroves, and seagrass beds in one of the world’s most ecologically rich regions. Starting in Bali, explore grassroots conservation focused on habitat restoration, sustainability, and endangered species management. Learn from conservationists protecting parks in Java and Borneo, and observe primates, coral reefs, and endangered species such as the Bali myna and Bornean orangutan. MONEY MATTERS SIT has given an average of over $1.3 million in scholarships and grants to SIT Study Abroad students in recent years and is committed to ensuring you have the information necessary to apply for such funding. Our program costs include academics, excursions, accommodations, airport transfers, and health insurance. Meal arrangements vary by program. Be sure to discuss how study abroad costs are handled at your school with your study abroad advisor and read the website for more specific information.
