Do I need to apply for a student visa?

Students who enroll in 2 courses or require an entry visa to enter Singapore must obtain a visa if they do not hold a Singaporean Identity Card (IC). Detailed information on applying for a Student's Pass will be provided.

When will I know if I have been accepted into the program?

You will receive the outcome of your application via email, within 3 to 7 working days, after the submission of application.

Can I transfer credits to my home institution?

Credit transferability is determined by and at the discretion of your home university. Each course confers one SMU Credit Unit, equivalent to 6 - 7.5 ECTS, 10 - 12 CATS, and 3 - 4 US credits. Please consult with your university administrators to determine the transferability of course credits before submitting your application.

Does SMU provide on-campus housing for international students?

SMU's central location offers various accommodation options within walking distance as well as easy access to amenities and transport. Students can arrange their housing based on budget and preferences or refer to our alternative housing list. However, all housing arrangements are ultimately the student's responsibility.

When can I apply for GSP 2026 and when do applications close?

Applications for GSP 2026 will open on 10 January 2026 and close on 15 April 2026.
