Experience the real Thailand as a paid teacher at a formal school in Chiang Mai. Participants receive pre-arrival training and four weeks of face-to-face training, which includes six observed teaching practices at local schools and a 30-night stay with breakfast at the Darley Hotel (during the training period). This is followed by a one-semester paid placement at a kindergarten, primary, or secondary school. You choose the school and whether you wish to be placed in or outside Chiang Mai.
Throughout the enrollment process, training, and placement period, interns will be in direct contact with SEE TEFL staff, who will answer questions, coordinate visas/work permits, arrange transport, coordinate accommodation, and communicate directly with the placement school on behalf of the intern.
This program is aimed at enthusiastic and adventurous native speakers with recognized university degrees. It is also ideal for travelers on a gap year, people wanting to take a break from their careers, or people who want to try teaching before committing to a career in the education industry.
Interns receive TEFL certification at the end of the training period before they are placed.
