Study Abroad Program in Bali, Indonesia

Locations were great, as well as accommodations. Michell Paddack taught incredible courses. It was a great balance between class time and going in the field to learn. Interactions with locals and participating in religious ceremonies was a great aspect of the program. Well organized by everyone.

It freking rocks. Do it, go see it for yourself and you'll know what I mean. Mention Darren's name and get good prices. If travelling is something you love or wanna love and you're serious aboit, do it. Worth every cent, experience is priceless.

This, overall, has been a life-changing experience. It has taught me so much and allowed me to grow, while making amazing friends along the way. The locatino is perfect and it felt safe and had welcoming locals.

It was great getting to know the locals. Being in the same place for weeks at a time get you familiarized and able to connect with the island and the people. WE saw all different aspects of Bali and its regions, becoming best friends with the students at Communitas. We were one with nature.

Great hands-on learning and experience with marine biology. Interesting cultural Experiences. Wonderful group of people overall. People organizing trips on the island did wonderful. We were well cared for.

Bali is magical. There is no way to write it in words, but it changes you. The Balinese make an imprint on you and trust me, ou will return to America with a bigger heart and an open eye that you didn't even know was there. I fell like I'm an expert local about Bali now.

Good mix of inland and coastal settings. Curriculum mirrored what we were actually experiencing very well. Professors were smart and good teachers who cared strongly about us. A lot of fun excursions, great accommodations that exceeded expectations.

The program in a whole was incredible. What stands out for me is all the ocean related activities like diving, snorkeling, boating, being in the water in general. Exploring all around Bali and comparing different ecosystems and cultures and ocean environments was awesome. Honestly loved the trip as a whole and could go on and on and on.

The community we built together was amazing. All of our excursions were so fun and it was just the right amount. I learned so many amazing things, school-wise and not-school-wise. The teachers are amazing and I definitely made life-long friends!

I would recommend this program by Santa Barbara City College because it was the most amazing experience of my life. I learned so much, saw things I'll remeber for a lifetime and made lifelong friends.

the variety of visits to nice field temples, various locations and opportunities to snorkle and dive. The program was flexible and full of group learning. It is a comprehensive program and I learned a lot. It is intensive packing a semester's work into 60 days. It can also be physically challenging sometimes.

I learned so much by actually being in the feild and seeing and interacting with all of these passionate and knowledgable people. I would recommend this program, it was so incredible and I learned so much - both academically, culturally and socially.

The focus on culture and the people of Bali was perfect. This program without culture or sustainability wouldn't be right, it's our responsibility as visitors to learn... No matter what subject matter.

Traveling and seeing different sides of islands, experiencing traditional practices, scuba diving, lots of cool learning. Improvements: spacing out labs in the second half. It felt like they were all combined in the last week and the timing could have been spread out better. I would recommend this program because it was an amazing life changing experience. I learned so much about the culture and then also got to experience it. Honestly so amazing.

We saw so much! We also learned a lot: Hands on excursions that felt real and authentic were the best part, our drivers knowledge, really anything that felt authentic in a sense; that's the most powerful stuff! I would recommend this program because there is no other study abroad like this but it is fast paced and academically intense so that may not be for you.

Met a lot of amazing people that I will be friends with for the rest of my life. The activities went perfect wth what we were learning! It changed my life. I was indecisive about what I wanted to do with school but this trip showed me how fun marine biology is.

It was amazing. The excursions really enhanced the overall experience and I think it was sucha good opportunity to dive into a new culture and live this new way of life. It was such an amazing experience to meet new people and to learn about a whole new culture and the amazing world under the ocean.

The relationship with professors, integrated learning of both the environment and culture. I would recomment this program, at home the culture is so different and their way of life. It is important for younger generations to be fully educated if there is hope to make a better future.

All of the excursions taught us so much. Way more than all of the written work did. And the sense of community in all the students and staff. Bring a camera that's waterproof and make sure your heart is as open as it can be

I wish we had more time in Bali, two months is way too short and at time very overwhelming. I would recommend anyone to go because this is a very amazing and enriching program. I did the Scuba Certification and would advise to bring lots of snacks and bug spray
