- Sea Turtle Conservation Internship in Costa Rica

Sea Turtle Conservation Internship in Costa Rica
by: Roots Interns
Live and work in a tropical paradise along the coastline of Costa Rica and join the frontline of sea turtle conservation. This is an incredible opportunity for young conservationists to make a big difference whilst building a deep bank of skills and experience. This organization works to protect sea turtle beach habitats along one of the busiest nesting areas in Costa Rica with over 7000 nests and almost quarter of a million hatchlings each season. They take an all-rounded approach to this mission, focussing not only on conservation work but community development so as to educate, empower, and incentivise locals to protect their natural resources. All of their work is led by their own independent research identifying the greatest threats to sea turtle populations and developing more effective means of protecting them. Your work will revolve around supporting their many conservation projects. This will include nest monitoring and excavation turtles, and supporting their various community-driven initiatives. You’ll also have the opportunity to pursue more research-oriented work collecting data and managing their databases.
