Gain practical field experience in marine research and conservation during this internship in Mozambique. Based on the beautiful island of Benguerra, you'll get a chance to work on various research programs focused on conserving marine life along with a dedicated team of scientists and environmentalists. As an intern, you’ll be part of a nonprofit organization whose goal is to study the rich ecosystem in the Bazaruto Archipelago and to use data to address conservation needs on both local and regional levels. Living on the island, you'll get to dive amongst colorful fish, enjoy walks along pristine beaches, and observe one of the most biodiverse coral reefs in the world. To join this internship, you will need to have a relevant academic background in the field of marine biology, environmental sciences, or related fields. As an intern, you will be involved in: - Ecosystem monitoring - Marine life identification - Diving expeditions to maintain underwater equipment - Helping raise awareness of marine conservation.

Amazing facilities and great staff. Excellent dive training, challenging but fun diving, broad learning about marine species in the Bazaruto Archipielago. Hospitality of BCSS and incredible dive sites. Would have appreciated having a researcher on the station while my stay to have a broader comprehension of the day to day of a marine researcher.
BCSS went overboard with making sure their interns were comfortable and getting the experience they needed. Both the staff and the interns were incredibly helpful and friendly. I wish I could have stayed the whole summer.
