What is the minimum commitment?

The minimum commitment is 4–6 weeks to ensure meaningful engagement, proper safeguarding orientation, and responsible participation within our child protection framework.

Will I work independently with children?

No. All engagement with children occurs under trained staff supervision and within formal safeguarding protocols. Interns do not operate independently.

Who is eligible to apply?

We welcome students and professionals in social work, psychology, education, public health, medicine, development studies, and related fields. A CV, interview, and background screening are required.

What does the program fee support?

Fees contribute to supervision, safeguarding compliance, structured placement oversight, and operational sustainability. Accommodation and airport pickup may be arranged separately or included depending on placement agreements.

Based in Kampala, Uganda, the ThriveWell™ Child Protection & Trauma Recovery Internship offers a structured, supervised placement inside a governed child protection system. Hosted by Rescue Mission for Street Life (RMFSL), this program is grounded in the principle of trauma recovery before reintegration.
