Ziriya Global Med™ International Clinical Programme — Zanzibar, Tanzania
The Ziriya Global Med International Clinical Programme is a structured, supervised global health experience based in Zanzibar, East Africa. Delivered in collaboration with Kizimkazi Health Centre, the programme gives medical, dental, nursing, pharmacy, public health, and healthcare-related students meaningful exposure to real healthcare environments through clinical observation, community health engagement, and health systems learning.

Participants gain cross-cultural insight, deepen their understanding of healthcare delivery in a different resource setting, and develop the professionalism and ethical awareness that define strong global health practitioners.

The programme runs across three tracks — 1, 2, and 4 weeks — with the 2-week Immersion Track as the flagship experience. No prior international placement experience is required.
All activities are delivered within clearly defined clinical boundaries, supervised, and professionally managed.

What will I actually do during the programme?

Participants gain supervised exposure inside active healthcare environments, including Kizimkazi Health Centre and selected community outreach settings. Depending on the track, you may observe consultations, follow clinical workflows, learn from healthcare professionals, and gain insight into healthcare delivery in both structured and lower-resource environments.

What is included in the programme fee?

The programme fee covers your clinical placement, accommodation, visa-related programme support costs, local transport for programme activities, supervision, on-ground coordination, and certification. International flights are the only major cost not included.

Who can apply for the International Clinical Immersion Programme?

The programme is open to medical students, dental students, nursing students, public health students, and other healthcare trainees or early-career professionals in recognised health-related fields. All applicants are reviewed before approval to ensure the programme is a suitable fit.
