Teach in Mongolia with an Accredited Level 5 TEFL Diploma
by Premier TEFL

Program Overview
To teach English in Mongolia you need an employer there to sponsor you. Under the Labour Migration Law, your employer gets a permit to invite you, then a work permit in your name, and the Immigration Agency lists a C2 visa for foreigners coming to work in education, applied for by the inviting organization. Premier TEFL's online Level 5 TEFL Diploma prepares you for the classroom.
The law lists teachers at educational institutions of all levels as a job category for foreign workers. An employer first advertises the job in the national employment database and may seek an invitation only if no local hire is found within 14 working days. The invitation permit lasts three months, and the work permit up to one year. First residence permit applications are made in person.
The 180 hour Government Regulated Level 5 TEFL Diploma, Ofqual reference 610/1572/6, is the best fit for Mongolia, and the 120 hour Accredited Online TEFL Course is the starting option.
Study self paced online with 24/7 access, tutor support, optional live Zoom classes, an instant digital certificate and lifetime job assistance. Enroll online and finish the course before you apply to schools in Mongolia.

FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Get answers to all the most common questions about Premier TEFL.
What visa do I need to teach English in Mongolia as a foreigner?
You need a work visa sponsored by your employer. The Immigration Agency of Mongolia lists employment visas under category C, with C2 for foreigners coming to work in science, education and information technology, and the inviting organization submits the application. The Embassy of Mongolia in the US adds that it cannot issue a work visa without prior approval from the Immigration Agency. Your passport must be valid for 6 months after arrival.
How does a school in Mongolia get permission to hire foreign teachers?
It applies to the government agency in charge of employment under the Labour Migration Law. The school first posts the job in the national employment database and may ask to invite a foreign worker only if no local hire is found within 14 working days. Its application includes a work plan, its state registration certificate and documents proving your profession and skills. The invitation permit lasts three months and can be extended once.
How long does a work permit for teaching in Mongolia usually last?
A work permit lasts up to one year, depending on the job and the length of your employment contract. Under the Labour Migration Law, your employer signs a contract with you and sends it to the employment authority, which then issues the permit. It names you, your citizenship, your employer, your work location and the permit term. It can be extended at the employer's request, and employing a foreigner without the proper permit is prohibited.
Do I need to register when I arrive in Mongolia to start teaching?
Yes. The Immigration Agency of Mongolia says hosts, whether a company or an individual, must register foreign nationals online within 48 hours of entry, and UK travel advice says hotels and landlords do this using an app. First residence permit applications are made in person at the agency, and extensions can be filed online. The agency also warns against paid intermediaries and asks applicants to use authorized government channels only.
Which Premier TEFL course is the best choice for teaching in Mongolia?
The 180 hour Government Regulated Level 5 TEFL Diploma, Ofqual reference 610/1572/6, suits most people heading to Mongolia. It is a recognized Level 5 qualification that employers can verify on the UK government register. The 120 hour Accredited Online TEFL Course is the starting option, and the 300 hour Level 5 Master TEFL Advanced Diploma, Ofqual reference 6101574X, is the step up for a stronger profile.
