Get TEFL Certified for Peru: Accredited Level 5 Diploma
by Premier TEFL

Program Overview
To teach English in Peru as an employee, foreigners need worker resident status from the Superintendencia Nacional de Migraciones, Peru's immigration authority, which requires a job contract with an employer in Peru. Premier TEFL's online Level 5 TEFL Diploma prepares you for that classroom.
Migraciones grants the worker resident visa online to applicants outside Peru whose employment contract runs one year or more and is approved by the labor authority. The employer must be listed as active with SUNAT, Peru's tax agency, and you need clean police, criminal and judicial records from the countries you have lived in. The stay is 365 days, renewable for the same period. With a resident visa you then request a Carné de Extranjería, Peru's foreigner ID card.
The 180 hour Government Regulated Level 5 TEFL Diploma, Ofqual reference 610/1572/6, is the best fit for Peru, and the 120 hour Accredited Online TEFL Course is the starting option.
Study self paced online with 24/7 access, tutor support, optional live Zoom classes, an instant digital certificate and lifetime job assistance. Enroll online and finish the course before you apply to schools in Peru.

FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Get answers to all the most common questions about Premier TEFL.
What visa do I need to teach English in Peru as a school employee?
You need worker resident immigration status, granted as a visa by the Superintendencia Nacional de Migraciones through its online platform. It covers foreigners with an employment contract, an administrative relationship or a services contract in Peru, working for public or private employers. Migraciones asks you to be outside Peru when you obtain it and to have no police, criminal or judicial records in the countries where you have lived.
What kind of job contract does a worker visa for Peru require?
Migraciones asks for a copy of an employment contract approved by the labor authority, stating a term of one year or more and dated no more than 30 calendar days before you apply. Your employer's legal representative signs a sworn statement with your name, and the company must be listed as active with SUNAT, Peru's tax agency. Contracts under one year or with a probation period are assessed for temporary worker status instead.
How long does worker resident status in Peru last before renewal?
Worker resident status gives you 365 days in Peru, and you can extend it for the same period. Migraciones asks you to apply for the extension online 30 days before your residence expires, while you are in Peru. Employees attach the approved contract, their three latest pay slips and a SUNAT report of income and withholdings for the last three months, plus a sworn statement that they have no police, criminal or judicial records.
How do English teachers in Peru get their Carné de Extranjería?
Teachers who enter Peru with a resident visa approved by Migraciones request the Carné de Extranjería, the foreigner ID card, through the Migraciones digital agency while in Peru. You show the passport you entered with and an international exchange record from INTERPOL Lima of the Peruvian National Police, issued within the last six months. Once your card is issued, book an appointment to collect it at the Migraciones office you chose.
Which Premier TEFL course is the best choice for teaching in Peru?
The 180 hour Government Regulated Level 5 TEFL Diploma, Ofqual reference 610/1572/6, suits most people heading to Peru. It is a recognized Level 5 qualification that employers can verify on the UK government register. The 120 hour Accredited Online TEFL Course is the starting option, and the 300 hour Level 5 Master TEFL Advanced Diploma, Ofqual reference 6101574X, is the step up for a stronger profile.
