Get TEFL Certified for Panama: Accredited Level 5 Diploma

For a job with a private employer, Panama's Servicio Nacional de Migración lists a provisional permanent residence permit for foreign staff hired by private companies within 10% of their ordinary workforce. SNM grants it for two year periods, after which you can apply for permanent residency. The application must include a work permit, an employment contract endorsed by the Ministry of Labor and a company letter stating your position and salary.

SNM's checklist starts with a notarized power of attorney and application that names your parents and their nationality, three photos and a notarized copy of your passport. You also need a criminal record certificate, a health certificate, a sworn personal background form, your work permit, a contract endorsed by the Ministry of Labor, a company letter stating your position and salary, and proof of enrollment with the Caja de Seguro Social.

It depends on your passport. UK government advice says British visitors can stay up to 3 months without a visa and cannot normally extend unless they apply to change immigration status. Canada's travel advice says Canadians can stay up to 180 days and must change residency status to stay longer. SNM lets tourists who plan to apply for residence request an extension of up to 60 days if a requirement is still missing.
