Accredited TEFL Certification for Teaching in Saudi Arabia

You need a work visa sponsored by your employer. Saudi Arabia's official KSA Visa platform grants a permanent work visa to workers who have secured long term employment contracts, and a temporary work visa to workers on short term contracts. Employers request these visas through Qiwa, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development platform. UK travel advice adds that your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after you arrive.

Your employer does. The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development says an establishment must issue a work permit to each expatriate employee within the first 90 days after they enter the Kingdom, using its Qiwa account. The ministry describes the work permit as one of the conditions for issuing or renewing regular residency in Saudi Arabia, so check with your school that your permit is in progress once you arrive.

Yes, with the right permit. UK government travel advice states that if you live in Saudi Arabia, you must get an exit or re-entry permit from your sponsor to leave and re-enter the country. If you leave on a final exit permit, you must apply for a new visa to return. The same advice warns that overstaying a visa can lead to large fines, detention and deportation, and that you could be banned from returning.
