Volunteering With PLANE Was A Journey Of Empowerment and Empathy

Volunteering With PLANE Was A Journey Of Empowerment and Empathy My volunteering experience with PLANE (PLATFORM for the NEEDY) in Uganda was one that profoundly rewarding. My time spent with this incredible non-profit organization was not just an adventure; it was a journey of understanding, empathy, and empowerment. From the moment I began volunteering, I was warmly welcomed into the organization by the vibrant and resilient people. PLANE provided me with a unique opportunity to immerse myself in the lives of the people of Uganda in ways I could never have imagined. I witnessed their day-to-day struggles, dreams, and the steadfast spirit that defines the people of Uganda. At the heart of my volunteer work was the creation of educational content focused on critical issues such as gender-based violence, women's empowerment, and overall community development. Writing articles, editing videos, and crafting powerful infographics became not just a means of communication but a tool for change. The impact of our efforts was tangible, and witnessing the positive change we could bring to these young minds was immensely gratifying. Through volunteering with PLANE, I was able to connect with the people of Uganda, who left an indelible mark on my life. The organization's commitment to creating sustainable change and empowering the community is inspiring. To anyone considering volunteering with PLANE, I wholeheartedly recommend this transformative experience. Your time and efforts will not only contribute to meaningful projects but also leave you with a profound understanding of the power of collective action in making the world a better place.

PLANE Uganda Inspired Me To Initiate Greening Uganda Schools Project

Manav Gupta New York, USA Ambassador I’m Manav Gupta, a 17-year-old high school student at Manhasset High School in New York. I joined PLANE as an Ambassador/Fundraising Coordinator after coming across their work for underprivileged communities in Uganda. Through my outreach skills and passion for supporting these communities, I hope to make a positive, long-lasting impact in the organization. My priority is to expand PLANE within the United States and make more parts of the country aware of the lack of resources in African communities. With my colleague Leng , we fundraised and raised funds for the project dubbed Greening Uganda Schools and communities. So far we’ve planted over 1700 trees in 20 primary schools. The intention is to mitigate the effects of climate change and instilling the discipline of tree planting and environment conservation among the children. We plan to plant over one million trees by 2025. If you would like to help out in any way or join this incredible team, please reach out to me at manavgupta0726@gmail.com or info@platformfortheneedy.org
