Philotimo Med Abroad

This fellowship allowed me to study global medicine by shadowing physicians in Larisa, Greece has been extraordinary and life-changing. To see what the surgeons and specialists can do is awe-inspiring from basic procedure to knee replacement. Had further fueled my desire to become a physician with much compassion and "Philotimo ".

I recently completed my Medical Fellowship at Philotimo Med Abroad in Athens. This was an amazing experience and I largely took away two things: 1) I learned there are certain aspects of a program that are important to me, which I will be sure to look out for during my residency interviews. 2) With all residency interviews being virtual (due to COVID), it allowed me the opportunity to physically be in a clinic shadowing doctors and exploring Greece.

I found this opportunity to improve both my personal and professional experience. This program incorporate human interaction and my interest in science. I explored the medical career and tested my aptitude for premed making this experience fascinating. I discovered Greece during my excursion day and during the weekends I had the chance to travel to Skopelos. I gained so much experience and brought back a beautiful letter of recommendation from my mentor.
