Situated on a Big 5 Game Reserve, this programme allows budding vets to get authentic experience with some of the most loved species on the planet. Volunteers will work alongside real vets and wildlife experts and learn first-hand how they help to look after the animals on the reserve. Volunteers will gain practical and theoretical knowledge, giving them a well-rounded view of life as a wildlife vet. Typical activities include assisting with minor operations, helping with the application of vitamin boosters, monitoring the behavior of the animals, and treating parasites - to name a few. A once in a life time experience!

Alongside this you get some incredible hands on experience with wild animals, and the rangers and vets are so informative - you will learn so much!

Everything was so well organized that I didn't have to worry about any of the logistics and could just concentrate on my project and making the most of my time abroad. The project itself was also amazing. Getting hands on veterinary experience in that unique of a setting was one of the best experiences of my life. And in addition to all that I met some incredible people while abroad that I still stay in touch with. None of this would have been possible without Oyster Worldwide so I'm forever grateful.
