Frequently Asked Questions

What are the requirements to join Oxford Scholastica Online Courses?

We have three entry requirements:

  1. You must be aged between 11 and 18 years old at the start of your chosen course.
  2. You must be motivated to learn more about the subject you wish to study (there's space for you to write a personal statement on our registration form).
  3. You must be able to speak, read, and understand English well. Though we require no formal testing, our minimum English level is Common European Framework Level C1, which equates to IELTS 6.5.

Will I receive a certificate after completing the course?

Yes, all students who successfully complete one of our online courses will receive an Oxford Scholastica Academy Certificate of Achievement upon completion of the programme.

Students who meet our criteria will also be awarded a personalised Letter of Recommendation from their tutor, highlighting their academic achievements, strengths, participation and more.

Is the online course the same as the Oxford Scholastica summer school?

Our online courses (as with all our online offerings) are project-based, meaning you’ll constantly apply what you learn to real-world problems. While these courses have been designed in accordance with our learning philosophy of Learn, See, Do - just like our Oxford Summer School, the content is different, with a greater focus on problem-solving. You can join us for both without repeating material.

Can I cancel if my plans change?

We understand that plans can change. If you need to reschedule your course dates or cancel your place entirely, you have 14 days from the date of your payment to receive a full refund unless the course has started.

How long are the classes each day?

You’ll have two hours of live contact time with your tutor each day, plus around two hours of independent study or group work. In total, you should plan to dedicate approximately four hours a day to the course.
