Frequently Asked Questions

Will I be met at the airport?

For all of our worldwide programs, you’ll receive a warm welcome at the airport from one NVDP’s friendly local representatives. The details of the collection service included in your Program Fee can be found on the program page for your specific project of interest.

How can I arrange my airport drop off?

In destinations where the airport drop-off is included, our local team will gladly assist in arranging a safe and secure transfer. This will typically be organised with one of the local team’s trusted drivers in a comfortable private vehicle.

Can I make donations to the project?

It’s terrific if you’re considering donating to the project you’ll be volunteering at! Often, the best approach is to purchase any items you wish to donate once you’re in the host country. This has a double benefit — it provides valuable support to the local economy and allows you to see first-hand what the project truly needs.

Can I arrange a private room?

Most of the accommodation options across our programs are designed to encourage social interaction and cultural exchange by having participants share a room with fellow volunteers (always on a same-sex basis). This shared living arrangement is a great way to bond with like-minded people, create lifelong friendships, and make your experience even more memorable!

Are there any public holidays that affect project availability?

We’ll keep you updated about any holidays that might impact project availability. You’ll find this information on our holiday dates page in your Volunteer Handbook. However, as is often the case in developing countries, holidays can sometimes be unpredictable or subject to sudden changes.
