NVT is a South African conservation organization based in the coastal village of Nature's Valley along the Garden Route. Since 2000, we have worked to conserve biodiversity through applied research, environmental education, community engagement, and habitat restoration across marine, freshwater, and terrestrial ecosystems. I had an incredible experience interning with Nature's Valley Trust (NVT). The hands-on approach to conservation work allowed me to actively contribute to important projects, from estuarine, coastal and marine research activities to assisting with the educational programme. The mentorship I received was invaluable, with the team providing constant support and guidance throughout the internship. I also appreciated the opportunity to work on real-world environmental challenges, making a tangible impact on the local ecosystem while gaining practical skills. The holistic learning environment, combined with a strong sense of community, made my time at NVT both rewarding and inspiring.
