Wepa! Puerto Rico: donde la vibra e’ otra cosa.
December 12, 2023by: Nick Paneto - United StatesPuerto Rico both stimulated my intellectual curiosity and cultural appreciation yet graced my days with a sun-kissed Caribbean glow, face full of sand, and belly full of “fritura.” The layered cultural elements of the island are scattered, evident in an intoxicating “recorrido” through the colonial remnants of San Juan and the contemporary Latinx flare with hints of American cultivation. As a frequent visitor thanks to my Boricua pedigree, I can attest to Puerto Rico being the domestic destination with an abroad feel, friendly locals, evergreen mountains, turquoise beaches, and vibrant night life. I can give no higher recommendation — hop on a flight to “la isla del encanto” now!!
