Hokkaido; the Scandinavia of Japan❄️
September 16, 2024by: Toni De Bruin - NetherlandsProgram: Study Japanese in HokkaidoOnce Hokkaido always Hokkaido. My time here was intense and fully packed with so many lovely memories. I couldn't imagine how it would have turned out without Meiji as they contributed a lot to my whole experience here. The school is very well equipped with a library, spacious student lounge and regularly organizes in-house events as well as outside events. I loved my teachers and class, which had a great mix of nationlities. The majority of students was from Western countries except of a few Taiwanese and Korean students which gave a good mix in terms of study needs and focus on speaking practices. Can't recommend Meiji enough and hope to come back soon.
Beam me back to Hokkaido!
August 28, 2024by: Claudia Benneth - United StatesProgram: Study Japanese in HokkaidoAll the people and friends I made during my time here were so friendly. I enjoyed my time a lot at Meiji with their very good teachers, small classes focusing a lot on communication and a ton of fun activities made it an unforgettable time. My accommodation at their sharehouse was also great. Highly recommend!
Simply the best choice I could have done
August 27, 2024by: Susan Clark - United StatesProgram: Study Japanese in Hokkaido6 weeks in Hokkaido was a very intense and rewarding experience that widened my horizons. It was my first time being overseas outside of North America and yes Japan is VERY DIFFERENT! The cultural shock was written in my face right when I jumped out of the plane but thanks to these amazing staff and teachers my whole stay couldn't turn out better than I imagined. I stayed at a private apartment right next to the school which was fully furnished but did not provide any towels or shampoo. So I highly advice everybody to check the nearest 100 yen shop for all basics you will need. The classes were very pleasant and the teachers extremely enthusiastic about helping and assisting me all the time. Almost a bit too much but I don't have anything to complain about the class placement, prior Japanese level test and also the overall follow up of my study progress was very much hands on. The events were the best part and I made so many great memories throughout my time there. For sure Hokkaido will always have a special place in my heart and I think it's an extremely underrated location for studying Japanese. Highly recommend this program!!
