Bees, Beans & Soul: The 4-Week Agri-Impact Experience

In rural Arusha, agriculture is survival. Margo Agro Africa connects you with smallholders where your energy helps families move from subsistence to success. You’ll work the land and bridge the gap from farm to market.

Ground Reality & Your Impact:

Week 1 (Dairy): Livestock care and milk processing. Impact: Increases yields, directly boosting household nutrition and income.

Week 2 (Coffee): The hand-harvest. Impact: Prevents crop spoilage, ensuring farmers get peak market value for their beans.

Week 3 (Bees): Hive management. Impact: Building sustainable, climate-proof income streams for local women.

Week 4 (Poultry): Egg production. Impact: Consistent yields fuel the local food chain and school meal programs.

The Saturday Market: Every Saturday, we hit the local market! You’ll help farmers sell artisanal cheese, honey, and produce. Impact: You’re the frontline of fair trade, directly boosting the income of the families you’ve supported all week.

Basecamp: Relax in our Volunteer House with comfy beds and a full kitchen. Work hard, eat fresh Pilau, and witness Tanzanian resilience. Ready to leave a legacy?

1. Do I need any previous farming or irrigation experience?

Answer: Not at all! We welcome everyone from agriculture students to curious travelers. Our team will provide all the hands-on training you need for each weekly rotation. All we ask for is a "can-do" attitude and a willingness to get your hands dirty for a good cause.

2. How does my work actually help the local community?

Answer: You are a force multiplier for our farmers. By helping with labor-intensive tasks like harvesting coffee or managing livestock, you prevent crop loss and improve yields-Though you only work 2-4hrs a day.On Saturdays, you help sell products at the market, ensuring 100% of the profits go directly back into the pockets of the families you worked with.

3.What is the accommodation like?

Answer: We believe in "Hard work, Good rest." You’ll stay in our dedicated Volunteer House near Arusha. It features comfortable beds (single or shared options), a fully equipped kitchen for communal cooking, and clean bathroom facilities. It’s a safe, social space to recharge after a day on the farm.

4. Is the village safe for international volunteers?

Answer: Yes! Tanzanians are famous for their "Karibu" (welcome) spirit. You will be working and living in a close-knit community where we have long-standing relationships. Our staff is available 24/7 to support you, and we provide a full safety orientation upon your arrival.

5. What should I pack for the farm work?

Answer: You’ll need sturdy closed-toe shoes or work boots, long trousers to protect against sun and insects, and a hat. We provide specialized safety gear for beekeeping. Since you’ll be visiting schools and markets, a modest set of clean clothes is also recommended to respect local customs.
