Marketing Internship in Cape Town - Luxury Leather Goods

by: Magister South Africa Student & Volunteer Programs

4 (2)Since 2000

This internship requires a creative person interested in fashion—someone with an eye for detail; who can work with Photoshop; and is familiar with online magazines, newsletters, and web shops. Interns transform the company's style into inspirational content for its website, newsletters, social media and fashion platforms, and other channels. They also assist in blog and social media management, marketing, and sales. The company also offers internships to fashion design students with a great sense of style and talent for designing handbags and other leather fashion accessories. This company was founded in 2012 in Cape Town, initially offering leather belts. Their collection expanded into the largest collection of leather goods in South Africa. They ventured into a new chapter in 2019, introducing organic cotton lining and compostable satchels. Today, they strive to offer beautiful yet functional fashion accessories designed according to sustainable development goals. All their products are made in environmentally friendly facilities with safe and socially responsible workplaces.

During ten weeks, I worked for ZEMP a leather goods agency based in Cape Town and more precisely in the Woodstock district. During this internship, I carried out a wide range of tasks like : communications, marketing and business in general. I felt completely integrated into the company. Shawn and the others employees was amazing with me and I would definitely recommend this company.

Cape Town in general was a great experience as a young student it was truly life changing. I loved every bit of it, the proximity to nature coupled with the modernity of the city was really nice and being able to hike or hang out at the beach after work was really comforting. Nicky from Magister was available at all times for any request and really helped me accommodate to the city. ZEMP Leathers was also a great company, everyone was really nice and I had a great time working with them.
