This center aims to advance the struggle for equality among women, particularly black women experiencing socio-economic disadvantage, through the promotion and development of human rights for women. In order to fulfill their objectives, the center offers free litigation cases that advance women's rights and are in the public interest. In addition, where resources permit, they aim to provide women's organizations with technical legal assistance in making submissions to parliament and other institutions. They aim to provide training and capacity-building programs for paralegals and female lawyers. Intern duties include assisting in the development and writing of legal samples based on specific topics provided by the women's center, getting involved in human rights projects, and assisting with fundraising and management. Tasks will be allocated depending on knowledge and requirements, which are: - Study background in Law, Social Science, and/or Human Rights - A strong knowledge/ interest in Women’s Rights, NGO work, and an understanding thereof - A flexible, open-minded attitude and respect for other cultures This program is also open to volunteers.
