Take advantage of this unique internship opportunity at a school for learners with physical disabilities, ranging from muscular dystrophy to traumatic amputation. While their physical abilities are limited, they are mentally able and eager to learn. They also have strong abilities in athletics, allowing them to represent the school on national and international levels. Sports training includes table tennis, hockey, swimming, wheelchair basketball, and track and field. Other than brainstorming with the school’s staff and teachers, you will take care of varied tasks. These include attending to the learners’ medical needs, following up on their appointments and keeping track of their physical condition, helping develop their perceptive skills, encouraging personal independence, assisting with vocational training, and helping develop their independence and physical potential. Qualifications: - Studying towards a degree in Health or Nursing - Good communication skills - A love of children and a passion to make a difference in their lives - An empathy for other individuals
