This legal center in South Africa seeks to advance the struggle for equality for women, particularly black women, who suffer from socio-economic disadvantages by promoting human rights for women. In order to fulfill their objective, they litigate cases that advance women’s rights and are in the public interest, particularly constitutional cases. They also produce briefs to assist courts in constitutional cases concerning women’s rights and gender equality. They offer their services free of charge. And where resources permit, they provide women’s organizations with technical legal assistance in making submissions to parliament and other institutions. Legal Internships - The Center takes on Legal Interns who have completed at least one year of legal studies. Non-Legal Internship - The Center also offers internships to students with an interest and/or background in Marketing, Communications, Social Science Research, or related fields as well as Fundraising. They are generally looking for candidates with: - A strong interest in women’s rights, NGO work, and an understanding thereof - A background in either Law, Marketing, Communications, Social Science Research
