Intern at a Cape Town-based community radio station project, the oldest in Africa started in the 1980s when community activists and alternative media producers came together. Their activities are divided into Broadcasting, Upliftment, Scholarships, and Training and Human Potential Development.
Station staff and trainees are responsible for implementing weekday programs (6:00 – 16:00), while interns handle all the programming from 16:00. The scenario is different on weekends, with interns taking on the role of on-air presenters.
They offer internship placements to students with a Marketing and Business background. Tasks include but are not limited to:
- General marketing
- Social media Management
- Assistance with website management
- Content creation
- Development and update of marketing plans
- Brainstorming income-generation ideas
Intern positions are also available in broadcasting, sound engineering, advertising, development, journalism, politics, and other areas.
