Magister South Africa offers accredited Psychology internships at a special needs school in Cape Town, where students get exposed to different areas to ensure their experience is holistic and they gain maximum benefit. Internships are available to students of Education, Psychology, Physical Therapy, Music Therapy, Special Needs, Nutrition, and Occupational Therapy. The school, established in 1974, falls under the administration of the Western Cape Department of Education. What all children have in common is autism – a lifelong, neurological, and developmental disability that affects patterns of development. Some students can read and count, while others don't speak. Each class has a qualified educator and experienced class assistant. The therapy department has a qualified psychologist, speech therapist, and occupational therapist. Complementary therapies are an integral part of the educational program at the school. Qualifications Studying towards a degree/diploma in Physiotherapy, Education, Special Needs, Psychology, Occupational or Physical Therapy Good communication skills A love of children and a passion to make a difference in their lives
