Participating in this internship offers an invaluable experience to students specializing in medicine or nursing. They gain unparalleled exposure to an international healthcare system, often far more in-depth than the exposure they get in their home country. On the other hand, specialized medical volunteers gain insight into new techniques, allowing them to distinguish themselves from their peers.
Medical internship assignments are based in a large hospital in South Delhi, an area close to some of the best shops and markets in the city and just 15 minutes from the volunteer house. Interns are paired with a local doctor, nurse, or other medical professional throughout their placement. While the internship is mostly observation-based, they have the opportunity to shadow and give basic assistance to patients.
