Healthcare and Medical Program in Tanzania

This amazing program hopes to make a lasting, positive impact on the lives of less fortunate people in Tanzania. Placements are available at two hospitals. One is big enough to serve more than 250 outpatients daily and has a 250-bed capacity. They also perform more than 1500 surgeries per year. The second hospital is a government health center with a 45-bed capacity. They attend to an average of 150 to 200 outpatients daily and perform more than 500 surgeries yearly.

These hospitals cover all areas of modern medical care, including pediatrics, HIV/AIDS, a malaria and tuberculosis clinic, eye and dental care, mental health, and maternity. Volunteer work varies and depends largely on interests and previous knowledge. An individual work plan is created for all interns and volunteers, outlining tasks and ensuring optimal care is given.
