Program Overview

Meet local people and build skills within their community that will continue to have a lasting impact long after your placement.

The Living Music Foundation offers opportunities to teach music in rural community centers, women’s empowerment centers, orphanages, and at our office in town.

Our goal is to support these groups—often from low-income or violent backgrounds—by sharing musical skills that foster self-worth, confidence, and a brighter future. We believe musical training has powerful emotional and social benefits.

Volunteers work closely with Ugandan locals, making a lasting impact while having fun! You’ll lead group trainings, organize performances, and witness the growth of talent and confidence.

While on the program, you'll live with a host family and experience daily life in Western Uganda. On weekends, enjoy excursions like hiking the beautiful hills around Mbarara, a small but social town with plenty to explore.
